Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Great food for a great price. Waiters are quick and on point. Never left alone too long, and I have a love for fried ice cream

Having just moved from Austin, TX I was wary this place wasn't going to meet my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. The salsa could have been hotter (but hey, again....I'm from Texas) and the enchiladas could have used some more seasoning. But the margarita was strong and tasty (and cheap!) and I was delighted I could get fried okra as a side with my meal. The white queso was awesome. Our waiter (really wish I could remember his name) was super friendly and helpful. He explained all the specials they have on different nights. Will definitely be back. On a funny note, my husband and I were amused when we were offered more queso before more margaritas. But soon realized we were the only ones drinking. Welcome back to Oklahoma.. land of the "must not drink in public". :)

Decent food, but you ALWAYS have to wait to get a table. Too crowded and noisy. El Viejo and El Tequila are just as good without the crowds.

This is always our go-to place for date nights. The food is always hot and fresh and the drinks are cold. Definitely the best margaritas in town. The chips and salsa are amazing and we never leave with an empty stomach.

Great food, love the yellow queso! Enchiladas are possibly the best in town, salsa is excellent too!

Good Mexican food. Inexpensive, a bit noisy

Great menu selections, great food. Good bar. Ask for the spicy cilantro lime salsa for a tasty kick to your meal!

I love the shrimp cocktail here!

I ordered the chille Verde enchiladas with rice and beans and it's so freaking good. The refried beans have a smokey flavor that's amaze-balls! The rice is good and the enchiladas are my bueno

My wife and I didn't have a very tasty experience when we went. The food was not very good quality such as the salsa, chips, beans, cheese and fajitas. The beans were very liquidy and the fajita steak was chewy. This restaurant doesn't offer booth seating, just tables. Over all customer service was really good, but the over all cleanliness was poor. The floors needed a good sweeping and mopping and trims and fixtures could use a good dusting. Overall feel of the restaurant felt bellow par for what could be expected for the same price as other Mexican restaurants that offer better quality. Would I recommend trying this restaurant? No.

The service was poor and the $4.50 cheese sauce tasted like velveeta. The shrimp tacos were flavorless and the salsa was mediocre. I will pass the next time I am in broken arrow.

I remember when compadres first arrived in broken arrow. What a delightful place to eat with so many different great dishes. I've tried about half the menu and I've never hit a did. My highest recommendations to the spicy chicken, especially with the spicy papas. I also love the chimichanga and the white queso. Their house salsa is better than your standard fare for a restaurant. The one huge drawback for this place: well, it is popular so it is crowded. And it's been made to be that way. The tables are so packed in, you'll get to know your neighbors far too well.

Compadres in BA is really hit and miss when it comes to service. The food is always really good but service has not been that great lately. The last time my husband and I went it was us and another couple waiting in the lobby even waiting to be greeted let alone be seated. I cant count how many times the hostesses, serves, and even the manager walked by and never once said someone will be right with us or they should be right back. I waited 6 minutes ( Yes I counted ) before someone finally greeted my husband and. I understand it being a restaurant at dinner time but come on now, it was DEAD there was no reason why we were being ignored. So before we were seated we were already in a bad mood with the service so I made sure I let the server know this is why she isn't getting a full section of tables because the service in the front is HORRIBLE. Come on compadres, step your game up. My husband and I are repeat customers ever since you have moved into the new building but we will not be back for a really long time.

Excellent place to go if you are in a hurry and like great Mexican food and a fair price. The original location in Broken Arrow was very small and a wait was almost expected on every visit. I guess this may say something about the quality of the food. The have re-located a few hundred yards from where the original location was to a new, larger location. My wife and I have been to the new location several times and had to wait only one of those times for about five minutes. Don't be scared away by the amount of cars parked outside because the new location can handle the crowd.

There were a lot of cars in the parking lot so we stopped in hoping for the type of Mexican food that we get in San Antonio. Alas, it was just as mundane as the others that we have tried here. Taco Bueno is so much better.

Large menu and lots of good food to choose from. The new location is much larger than the old location.

The "Compadres Dinner" that has bacon, sausage, peppers, onions, steak and tomatoes grilled to yummy perfection and served with tortillas, plus the "spicy papas," which are kind of like spicy mashed potatoes filled with good stuff (ask them, can't remember what's in them, but they are good) was all good stuff. It's what happened to the person I was with that made me vow never to return (or at least not order what he had). See, while I got enough food for leftovers, I knew as soon as his enchiladas came out that he'd been robbed. His portion was tiny and only mediocre. When I say tiny, I mean like seriously tiny, and the one that was supposed to be a cheese enchilada? That one had only trace amounts of cheese inside. I felt terrible for him and was just puzzled that we were both eating at the same place where one person gets a reasonable amount for the price and the other kinda gets bent over and screwed. Oh, and they do have a menu online, so you can get an idea of what they have and for how much, just without mention of quantity.

The 'fajitas for two' are great. Nice people. Tons of free chips and tasty salsa. I would definitely recommend it for a "stuff your stomach with Mexican goodness after a long day."
(4)David F.
I love the chips and salsa, the fajitas, the white queso and the generous margarita. I ate there when they first opened a few years ago and continue to eat there often. I like the new location.
(4)James K.
Great white queso. Can't beat the large, cheap margaritas. This is the first stop whenever I am in town. It's the only place I eat when I am there actually.
(4)Amber P.
I've never had anything here that I didn't like. The fajita chimichangas are really good, as are the enchiladas and the veggie rice griller. The margaritas are s-t-r-o-n-g, so get ready for a buzz. :-) Service has always been good. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, be prepared to wait; this place get PACKED.
